Siting in a corner and waiting for someone to cross by does upset alot of people and I would call that camping but setting up a group of guys and holding down a section of the map is not camping. It is playing the game with a strategy. I tube alot it is an awesome way to get those guys that just sit in corners waiting for you to come by.

There is a difference between camping and strategy as hazzard pointed out. However, the best way to achieve victory is cover and concealment using the element of surprise. No war on the ground is faught running and gunning.
People that sit up a stairway with a claymore, and stay their the whole game shows no skill. While, Someone else posts up in a spot, shot, move, rinse and repeat. Is playing smart IMO
I do the same thing, but I think everyone does it. I try to hold it in because I know that I do play bad from time to time. The thing that really gets me going is when people just run around with noob tubes and one man army!! That really irritates me!
Well I'm one to not noob tuber but I have made a special class for those who runs around tubing or camping. Nothing like noob tube, RPG, scavegner, danger close in the face.
Anyways, about camping. I admit I do sometimes if I am pinned down and enemies one after another comes after me. Not going to move if I'm not sure that it is safe. In Afgan I always get pinned down in the poppy fields behind the bunkers.

There is a difference between camping and strategic placement as Hazzard pointed out. There is also a difference between camping and sniping. I hate it when I post up in 1 of my spots and snipe noobs who run around thinking nobody's going to be waiting for them and then get called a camper. A sniper isn't going to run around a battlefield quick-scoping people. Although it is funny to do to people once in a while, it's not strategic, it's arrogant. People do it to show off. More often than not, someone with an SMG or assault rifle is going to pepper them full of holes before they can even scope in.
The campers that I hate are people who hide around corners laying down in grass staring at 1 spot for half the game. That's when I break out my tubes and AT-4s and teach them to play dead. I figure after getting 20 kills with tubes, I have them pretty well trained. Good doggies.

I agree with you about the difference between sniping and camping. I got called stupid for trying to explain that to some people cause I was getting called a camper because I went 24-4 just sniping. So I pretty much said what you just explained to them and for some reason they did not get it at all. They thought that I was retarded because my mind couldn't grasp there idea of camping!!! I don't know all I know is that I was right.
You are right cupcakemastr101, most of the people online now-a-days are more into showing off and being A-holes. Not to go off-topic but my wife gets crap for 1) playing video games 2) being better then them in both gaming and manners. Anyways let them complain, as long as you or I are winning or "doing good" in the game, who cares?

I agree, I hate campers. And I hate it when ppl say I'm camping with a sniper Rifle, but I just chalk it up as they are just mad that they keep getting picked off by me. I'm not an expert sniper but if you keep walking into my cross hairs I'm gonna shoot ya!!

I don't understand the origin of "noob toober" in Modern Warfare 2. A few months ago, people didn't complain to me when I used a grenade launcher. Now, every game somebody says "NOOB TOOBER!!!! you suck Outlaw, learn to play." But I am playing. It seems more like an excuse now. Are you losing? Are you dying a lot? Yes...oh it's okay, they are noob toobing. Adapt to the situation, do not complain and make excuses.
I think everyone as you can see would like Noobs to go away, but it is part of the game. Even as a what I would consider a pretty good player I still run into all the same Noobs and It does get annoying but you find another lobby and play in there. Also, I have found that playing with my clan members also helps against the Noobs, because we are better at eliminating the problem before it starts! Good luck to everyone and God Bless!
