I cant tell you how many times I've been in a party with other Generals and while they're talking to their captains, swear at them and talk down to them. We tell everyone to respect other gamers and I see Generals not even respecting the people in their own clan. Then everyone else feels they have to do it back because they were just disrespected, and before you know it, it gets out of hand. Generals talk to the captains like that, then the captains talk to others in the clan like that, then I have a sergeant talking to me like that. We should respect other gamers and that starts with the Generals setting an example and respecting the people in their own clan.

i dont think thats right, everyone in the clan should respect everyone, not talk down to them and stuff. cause when people do that, that could be what makes people hit the clan.

Well in my clan its not a problem everyone gets along fine. But in others it might be true, so if your a general who does this just remember without people in lower ranks below you, you wouldnt have your general spot in the first place and without lower ranked members you dont have a clan

yeah this is a problem happening in my clan our general is disrespecting many of us as captains and we control it not to disrespect the lower ranks but when it comes to our general any wrong move on either side and u have to get an xl in there to shut everyone up and we now have a good a very good captain saying she is going to leave the clan because of him so generals and all others really need to respect the lower ranks

XGC New Dynasty does not have this problem but it was dissused at our last meeting. Even If u are joking around and swearing to people your comftoble with in the clan dont get too comftoble. If its you and that person or a group of people by all means tease and make fun of each other but if their is someone in your party you do not know or while you in matchmaking playing a game DO NOT DO IT. It could be easily misinterpreted. And not only should you not downtalk to other XGC members but to anyone you are playing with. Be respectful and if u have a bad habit of swearing when u get killed then mute your mike.

We also do not have this problem but i have seen this problem and its not only generals talking down to people below them in there own clan generals sometimes show disrespect to those below them in different clans. Generals are a role model and need to knock it off. They are setting an example for those below them and they have no right to talk down to anyone theres a difference between being a group leader and being a dictator. Now if anyone has a problem with a general doing this instead of posting on here take it to their section leader.

I'm all for taking it to the leaders. I'm just hoping that by posting something here it will avoid future incidents with in the community. New Dynasty didn't have this problem but they still discussed it to avoid having it. Posting it here was not intended to complain about it, I don't do that. It was to make some Generals who may read this aware of how their actions could affect the clan, and XGC as a whole, hopefully avoiding any problems all together. If clans don't have this problem but they're having meetings on it, maybe we should all discuss it at a meeting then. It seems to be working for them.

i agree with you i would never talk down to anyone in my clan because i would want to treat people with respect so they will treat me with respect. and another thing if you are civil with members in your clan they will not act out and they will do there jobs

so true scarpello. i try to be a role model in my clan so others can look up to me and go, wow, if i respect people and treat them right like royal does people will be nice to me in return and respect me. of course some people are just arseholes and wont treat anyone with respect what so ever.

I'm so glad to see that there are other Generals out there who totally understand this. Hopefully when other Generals see how our captains and such respect us, we will be an example to them as well. It's not always easy and sometimes seems like an ideal but it is ultimately what we should all be working towards. Like I said, respecting all gamers starts with the ones in our own clans and that should go down the chain of command as well as up.
This is true in all aspects of life and will make XGC a stronger community and give all those who are in it a better gaming experience as well as a sense of pride to be a part of it.

well i'm going through this right now, i took over XGC DARKSTAR, and they haven't had any leadership for so long, that they are acting out and they don't want to listen and they are being disrepectful. even though they are doing this i'm still being the bigger person and treating them with the must up respect

Give me some names you feel are doing this and we can discuss it with them. Just send me a message on my XGC HYLAND3R XL tag as all Generals should be on that list. If you are not, get there.

Be warned, if you call someone out for this and can't back it up or have the balls to confront them head on in a party, don't waste me time sending me a message. Make sure you have your facts straight and have tried speaking to that person about things first.

Now I agree with you guys on this one. But dont show so much respect to someone that it makes you look like a push over. If you are the general, you have the responsibility of making sure that everything runs smoothly. That also means that you will have to be tough on someone. There are going to be times that you are going to look like the bad guy.People that are being disrespectful to you dont deserve your respect. I have had this experience many times, which is why clan has good people in it. If you are tough on the ones that need a little whoop-***, then every one else is fine.
Over all, You can be a respectfull general, and be a strong one also. Dont forget either one of them.

yeah my clan has had his problem where our geberal was only being respectful to for lack of a better way to put this kissing his a$$. after a while the ones who refused to kis his a$$ have recently transfered out because they grew tire of all the other captains hating them and turning them into bad guys for them doing there job by respecing higher ranks nut not trying to better there look by kissing up to them

exactly, captains are a Generals main "man". The Captains do the work that the Genderals try to help them do. If you can't respect someone that should be your best influence on your clan than you got problems.

Not to long ago my General and I had brought that up. XGC CvilleGamer said, “Lead by example.” This is the best recommendation I could make to anyone aspiring to grow in XG.

There are some excellent points that have been already put out there to keep this in mind. Be the bigger man; remember you are the General or Captain. If someone does go off on you, it’s our job to follow our chain of command and honor code. You should NEVER retaliate and bad mouth someone back, but do talk to them about it before reporting a first/minor offense.

If there is a General who is being offensive then get with Hylander or anyone else following the chain of command .

I won’t mention the clan name since I do play with at least five other XG clans on a continual basis, but they were joking around while in matchmaking. During the round I reminded them that they should not be joking around with each other in that manner even if I’m the only one outside of their clan and they all know me.

How many times have you been around another team while in game play and only hear bits and pieces of what is being said. Well sure enough some guy starts going off in the post game lobby saying how his Uncle works for Bungie and we will all be banned for trash talking. No one had actually ment to insult this individual but he heard someone say something. (This is not intended to get anyone in trouble I have already talked with those individuals and they get it!)

What some you are doing right now is causing drama, that is another issue that needs to be dealt with. If you have a problem with a general, talk to a SL about it so they can deal with it and announce the issue to everyone else. If your general looks at your post and see's that your talking like this about him, I dont think he will be very happy.

For the Original poster, Yes I 100% agree with you and I have seen this myself, I have never yelled or disrespected a person in XG cause I feel this is a game and people come onto this game to have fun, Its no fun to be yelled at. You can always get your point across without yelling.
