Hi XG, I'm doing a persuasive essay and I need a great deal of WELL THOUGHT OUT OPINIONS! Not just, "I like this system" Please explain why you pick each system. Base it on the hardware, graphics, online, exclusives, child friendly, price of system and how much more it will cost in the future, customer support, do they have official mags, stuff like that... This will be up until about 1 pm sunday, so tell EVERYONE about it! Thank you, Oh and if you have any recommendations for sites that can help me, post em here, I am already using Cnet, Metacritic, and Consumer Report.

I chose the Xbox 360, for multiple reasons. 1. The games... The majority of the games I want to play come out for the 360. Games like Shadowrun and Halo don't come out on PS3 or Wii. The 360 has been out for a year longer than any of the current gen systems, so there are simply more titles to chose from. The Wii is the most kid friendly, but since I'm a 23 year old married man with no children, that doesn't matter to me. Also, the second reason I picked the 360 is the graphics. I believe that the 360 and the PS3's graphics are too close for the naked eye to see a difference. And the Wii really lacks in graphics.

I would have to agree, there really isn't that many good games for the PS3 or the Wii. Online with the PS3 is scarce compared to Xbox Live. Also another great feature with the 360 is the netflix part. If you are a netflix subscriber then you can stream movies straight from your 360.

I voted for 360 because of a few reasons such as it's got the most games that are actually like.....popular or worth buying I guess, there isn't that many series on the Wii or PS3 compared to Xbox like Halo.

From some of the games being released, some of the announcements being made and TV advertisements, it seems like the X360 is starting to release more family oriented or child friendly games which is a great plus for people with kids or families who like to game together but at the same time, they don't sacrifice the teen or adult gamer's experience because they are still releasing some great T-M games.

XBL is vastly superior to PSN and the Wii's online aspect, it has more customization, more options such as private chat, party chats and all that jazz and it just seems like it works better overall (Although it is kind of sketchy at times.)

I also like the 360's shape more, I find it easier to carry around to LANs and things like that, although the Wii is smaller, I assume it would be more fragile just because of the way it is built and with the PS3 (Keep in mind, I have not used or even seen a PS3 Slim) it seems like it's just a bit too big to be carrying around all the time like I can with my 360.

A few other things about it though, the hardware seems somewhat faulty with all the RRoD'ing and whatnot. I have never experienced customer support from any other gaming console company but I find that Microsoft's support is somewhat sketchy, I often get people who seem like they have no idea what they're talking about when you ask them something about the console.

A good thing about the X360 is that the price is starting to drop again, at $200 it seems like a great deal for such a good system with a great online service and some amazing games.

In my opinion I would rank the 360 first, the PS3 second and the Wii in a close third.

That's just my opinion though and I am somewhat biased towards the 360 because it was the first console I really got into gaming with, it's the console I use the most and it has the games I enjoy the most.

Fudgyfish, I have to point one thing out. I would be letting myself down if I don't say something, since I have a degree in psychology and we did a lot of research at penn state. The answers you get on here are going to be skewed because the vast majority of our gamers are 360 gamers, so most of our members are going to choose the system that they are accustom to. Right now 100% of people chose the 360, I'm sure that's not very close to the general populations actual belief.

I voted 360, but like Coleslaw pointed out, our opinions are going to be skewed because we all own and play on 360's... lol

Reasons for chosing 360: Its a Home Media center blockbuster. 1/2 of the design behind it was to suppliment your home media system, ideally improving most aspects. Netflix support, Live Marketplace for all kinds of DLC/media, HDMI support for most console (all newer), every game done in HD and the first console to jump on the flash drive system, making it incredibly easy to update your system without the need to upgrade/replace the unit itself.

Reasons for chosing PS3: Blu-ray support is huge, good HDD space, internet browser, HDMI input. Recent price-wars have dropped price on all PS units

The quality of titles between the two speaks for itself

i believe the 360 is the best simply because it has all of the extra options like netflix, zune, etc. Plus I think the game choice are better as far as "epic" games like bioshock, mass effect, and halo

The 360 and ps3 can't really compete when you compare the exclusives which Microsoft lines up (Mass Effect, Halo, GTA 4 expansions just to name a few).

Additionally, psn network is absolutely terrible when you compare it to the online experience offered by xbl. I really don't mind paying for my gold membership when xbl works so well and is so well populated.

The Wii is pretty lame. Maybe my 8 year old cousin would enjoy playing it?

Im gonna say there pretty much all right around the same level imo each system has its own flaws. Overall I would have to pick the 360 because its the only one that i actually own. I dont mind paying the extra money for live because it is more well maintained than ps3 or wiis online play. But customer support from microsoft is very substandard. Ive never called them and gotten through to exactly what i needed right away. You always spend at least an hour on the phone with them only for them to tell you they cant do anything other than send your xbox in. The 360 also has alot of hardware issues compared to what you hear about from ps3 and wii users. I found an article about it a while back i cant find the link at the moment but if i remember right on the 360 there was a failure rate of 56%. Meaning that only 44% of the 360s made actually work like theyre supposed to.
