WHAT IS SO GOOD ABOUT XG?

Alot of people think what is the point of XG, Why do we all go to meetings and why do we follow and listen to people we really dont know? Why do we follow rules when it comes to a game where we just want to come on and play? When I first joined XGC I use to think such things, But through months of spending time with fellow XG members I realized something, XG has made my experience on Halo 2 the most enjoyable time I had on the game since release date. Before I joined XG back in June 2006 as a gamer I was the same than that I am now. But back than I only had 3-4 close people who I hung out with on XBL. So what has changed in 1 year. I now know hundreds of people that have the same quality's as me and say "good game" at the end of every game. I can not tell you the number of friends I have met through XG; its countless, its amazing. And I think alot of people forget about this, some people get so caught up in the drama and bad stuff that happens in XG and forget what really makes XG what it really is; A community, a family. A group of people working towards one goal, Makin XG the most enjoyable experience for everyone. But than why do we have meetings and rules? Some people think its stupid to have meetings and they dont like people telling them what they can and can't do. Now everyone just picture XG without no rules or leaders........ Basically what I pictured was a Community that would quickly fall apart and we would lose the thing that makes XG so great, members who show respect and integrity. Rules and leaders are not the most imporatant thing, now dont get me wrong the rules and leaders are very important but they are the duct tape that keeps the most important thing together, the members. We all have seen our share of the bad apples that joined XG but what filtered them out, our honor code and our leaders who enforce it. It's important for us all to know and understand the rules inorder to have the community we are all enjoying right now. As Captains and Generals WE must make sure these rules are being followed by our members and ourselves. If we dont we will lose the thing that makes this community so damn great. I just want to thank everyone who has made XG possible and the Captains, General, Section leaders, Division leaders, and Council members who continue to make XG bigger and even better. I hope the Lt's who are on their way to becoming leaders continue this.

Lets not all forget what makes XG great.

Ok, so I was joking. Sort of. LOL!!

Good post Snowy!

And to add to what Spinz said about Teamwork, yes that is very important for community.

What many people need to know is that the leadership rarely if ever makes a decision without consulting the other leaders.

That is how all issues should be handled by all ranks within the community.

As always, Communication is the key to success!!

What makes XGC so great are the people that are in it, now I know that may sound corny but I have to keep deleting secondary tags and anyone who is in my clan that is on my friend list so I can keep adding people. I can say with out a doubt, I would have quit halo 6 months ago if I hadn't joined XGC.

I have heard this same story about peple leaving halo before getting in XG. Contact XGC ALTDOGG and let him tell you his story. :)

I have quit Halo 2 on many occasions, but ever since I got into XG I just haven't left. Because it makes the game more worth playing rather than dealing with people... I like that everyone is more respectful here, and I've had people trying to make fun of the fact that I would encourage people to keep their cool when things were getting a little bit frustrated. But I think that's what makes it even better because we do have rules that we do follow, rather than people just running around and talking trash just because they get a lucky game. We keep respect for all of our members, and our opponents, so I think that's what makes XG so good.

It is good to hear the same type of stories about PEOPLE being a large part of why everyone stays in XG.

So many others that have left or gotten removed have lost this reason to be part of a Gaming Community.

HALO of course doesn't help that much as it is a game in which people think being part of a clan is suppose to be some type of breading grounds for disrespectful trash talking ego maniacs. Like being a level 40 is really going to do something for you in the real world!

Community is about people and that is what XG is. The average gamer can come and join in with hundreds or great people and play games the way you are suppose to play them.

Of course we do have our Elites who are for the more serious gamer. If that is you, then go to that forum area and connect with that type of gamer.

Everyone keep up the great job you are doing!

Thanks.

Once in awhile in my squad will apologize for not being a good player, I simply laugh at that and say hey! we are all apart of XG and that it does not matter if your the best player in halo to just starting to play, everyone is welcome in my party to play some MM, As long and you dont talk trash you are welcome to play.

What I love about XG compare to other communities is that promotions and respect recieved is not based on skill, Its based on the commitment and leadership you display.

Great post. I think a lot of times people don't take the time to step back and see why they are in XG and what XG really does for them. That's when they forget that it's just a game and that we're here to provide a great atmosphere for their gaming needs. And to think, this entire community is ran by volunteers, it's incredible.

Snowy this is what i think , xg is one of the most interesting clan i have ever seen because we meet great people and its just a game some people get to serious but some take time to learn that we are here to become friends and work together Teamwork is the key to this and thats why i think we should try to get to know each other more so we wont be appart but instead work together

It is just a game and people do get caught up in all the BS out there. sometimes people just have to stand back for a second and look at the bigger picture, this is a great community and it presents the opportunity to meet so many like minded people who follow the same honor code.
