Good Day Xiled Gaming,

I wanted to post this to let everyone know the proper procedures to accepting a recruit into the clan and when and how to promote him/her into a Privates role.

First, when recruiting new members, there is no need to send a clan invite, right away, send him/her a FR first, play with the potential member a while, get a feel for the type of gamer he/she is.

If they fit into the right category for your division ( Recreational= XGC, Family=KoG, Underground=SYN, or if they are a complete monster and are classified as Pro=XGP ) then send them a clan invite, only after they have registered on our web site (if they have access to a computer), in addition to having read the Honor Code and Rank structure.

If they don’t fit into your specific area, get in touch with another Xiled Gaming member, in another division, tell the potential recruit the proper web site for the clan ( division ) you think they would fit into best. Keep him/her on your FR list even after they are in the other clan, this way they no that you are still available if they have any concerns or problems.

Now, once they are in your clans, then make sure you send out a welcome message for the rest of the clan, also introduce the new recruit to the other captains and the general(s). It is important this is done so that everyone can make the recruit feel comfortable in his new clan.

Make an effort over the next few days, seven to ten to be exact, that the new recruit plays with and gets to know well, the captains, generals, and the other members of the clan. In approx. 7 to 10 days, all the captains and the generals, should schedule a meeting to vote in or out this new recruit, just because they are in the clan as a recruit, DOES NOT mean, that they have to stay in the clan and become a private.

They need to have accomplished several goals as a recruit to be eligible for a private’s rank, and to remain in the clan.

1st. Know the Honor Code
2nd Understand the Rank Structure
3rd Have taken the time out of their game play to get to know the rest of the clan
4th Are capable of representing Xiled Gaming and its members in the right way
5th Have registered on the Web site and the forums.

If all this has been done, and the majority of captains and generals, agree, then invite the recruit into the room, congratulate him/her on their success, and welcome into the clan as a full member, now a Private. Make a big deal about it, they need to feel that they accomplished a goal that not everyone does.

If they don’t feel the recruit is a good fit for the clan, ask the recruit what he thinks about the clan and its members, decide if it is feasible to introduce him/her to another division, and transfer them into another clan to see if that one will be a better fit, if all of the above is not accomplished, then thank him/her for the games you have played together, but let them know that not every recruit stays and is accepted as a private, let him/her know that give it a month and try again.

Thank them for trying out and wish them luck, then remove them from the clan, keep them on your FR list as long as possible, so that maybe eventually they can try out again.

This procedure needs to happen weekly, if it is not, then START. This is a rule and any violation, will be met with warning, and or discipline actions, if these rules and procedures are followed then you will definitely see a better class of recruits in your clans. The Council and Division Leaders are going to be checking on each clan, General and his/her Section Leader to make sure this is being adhered to.

GREAT! Ya, this definitley does not happen in my clan. We have Lt. and up ask the recruit the honor code and ranks stucture and whether they like the clan, if they do know all and they like the clan. We promote them. I like your way better, ITS BETTER TO GET IT DONE RIGHT!!

That's the way it's suppose to be done. Certain people in our Squad don't know how to follow the rules. They promote people without checking if they've signed-up on the website. And it pisses me off.

thats deffinatley a good way to do it.....I do it kinda like that I ask them the rank structure and the honor code and then I have them set the account up with me in a party with them if they have not already done so and after that we then promote them to Private. Anf as far as making a big deal about it I like to point out to them that not everyone makes and that they are a part of somthing great. That typically works for me

Another way to tell if someone has actually registered is to make a "roll call" thread in your clan's forums and require all new recruits to post there after they've joined. It's gets them to actually look around and "GASP" maybe actually consider regularly using them.
