XGC Friends,

We lost a dear friend last night due to a modded lobby. Here's what can happen:

If you get into a modded lobby, you have no signs until the match begins. The screen then turns green (so I have been told by those who were in the room) and you wonder what the heck is going on. One of the guys never even got a kill before leaving the room and his stats still were blown sky high. They immediately rebooted their Xboxes yet the modded stats remained. This could happen to any one of us.

If someone in the pregame lobby makes any comment at all about it being a modded lobby then back out before the match begins! We do not want to lose more XCG members due to some boneheads setting up modded lobbies and figuring out how to have others randomly get put in. Yes - you can randomly be put into one of the lobbies by simply finding a match. It's not by invite only anymore! Be careful my friends!

XGC Mudfli, my General, was with a group of guys who ended up in such a room and he was given two options by the Counsel. The option he selected was to leave XGC. He will be missed.

I had a friend on XBL (non-XGC) that had a problem when the game first came out, where he was put into a lobby and somehow got negative XP... so he contacted tech support (http://activision.custhelp.com) and they were able to correct the issue on a case by case basis.

I hear about people all the time that use modded lobbies as an excuse to why they suddenly got a bazillion XP, but what actions do they take to correct it? I tell you this, if I somehow got cheated and my XP was altered in my favor or against, you better believe I would immediately bring this to the attention of my XS (or next in the chain of command) in effort to prevent confusion. I would also then contact XBL support and the support of the manufacturer of the game. So do you know what he did to report or correct this? This sounds like second hand information or were you in the room also when this occurred?

I do not know the specifics of this particular situation, but I know people use this excuse as a scapegoat all the time. This type of action is a violation of the XGC honor code and we don't want people that do this in our community, not saying that this applies to this situation.

Mudfli immediately talked to his XS about this issue...
but maybe he was unaware that you could contact Activision customer service..

i will inform him of this option and see if we can save him... there is no way mudfli is using this as a scapegoat.. i will vouch for him on this behalf..

This has always been a simple topic though. As far as I know, nothings changed regarding it (XG-wise) in several weeks/months.

If you are pulled into one of these lobbies, back out as soon as you notice that something is amiss. The fact that millions of points are accrueing on your screen, or the Level-Up sound-bite thats played as the points sky-rocket... This stuff is noticeable, and if you remain in one of these games for longer than is necessary, then yes, you have no excuse.

Its happened to alot of us, and all you do is leave the match. People in your clan(s) should be aware of the issue and our stance on it by now, and if anyone else remains in the match, its their own doing. Thats why we stressed this SO much at the time.

Black when they joined the lobby, everything was normal, once the game started loading, a green screen showed up on them, and he told everyone to shut off their xbox's..

but apparantly it still messed up their stats

yeah from what i heard they did everything right and still Mudfli was kicked out, he never mentioned a "choice" in the matter

he was optioned to change his GT or to Leave

Well, atleast he has principles. I am not abreast of the whole situation but i probably would have changed my GT. Its a crazy situation all the way around. i didnt even know about the modded rooms, so I would not have known to get out untill it was too late.

So they left when they noticed something was wrong and were still given the ultimatum?

I'm sure theres more to it, so don't feel comfortable assuming anything, but will say this. The Council are a cool group of guys, and I seriously doubt they'd jump to conclusions on this

The modded lobby issue has been the topic of conversation at numerous General's meetings and should have been reviewed with all members during individual clan meetings as SYN BLACK XS mentioned the direction provided was if you find yourself in this type of game or lobby, back out immediately or dashboard it if you are concerned with your win/loss ratio.

I do know that if you somehow get placed into one of these games or lobbies that you can be affected before you have the chance to back out or realize what is going on. I have faith that the upper leadership will take all parts of the story and situation into consideration. It doesn't sound like any of us were there, when these conversations took place, so stating anything about ultimatums that were issued would be second hand info, speculation or assumptions.

I agree with everyone. Unfortunately I was in this room and I was the one who had no kills in the match. I was not party host neither was mudfli. Mudfli did contact XBL and they said they can not correct the issue. I do not know for sure if he contact activision. I have and they informed me that they are looking into the issue and the person we reported for modifying the room.

I left within twenty seconds of the match starting as did 4 other XGC members I was with. I then made a post on my rebellion forum notifying my section leader, general, and captians of the perstige lobby (because none of them were on xbl at the time). I then explained the situatuion to other Generals of XGC clans and to two section leaders (Mudfli was present with the section leaders and later to the council). We were assured that nothing was going to happen to us because simply it was not our fault, we did not know, did not do it on purpose, and left as soon as possible.

It can happen to anyone, I have yet to be informed of what my punishment will be (even though unfair it will be) but I have rumors mudfli wont be the only one being removed from xgc. Which is ashame for the council because they stress friendly gaming and friendship...thankfully mudfli, myself and the others who were in the room (on accident) have alot of support because the support knows we are not moders or hackers.

It is sad to see mudfli leave after 5 long years of devout service to this organization and to this group of friends.

So if you were all told is wasn't your fault (as common sense might suggest), why was Mudfli given the ultimatum?

What was he supposedly doing that set him apart from the other 4?

yeah i suppose i am missing some information here myself...
i thought i was informed well from seeing what was happening and talking with Mudfli about it. but i have to agree with black.. there must be MORE to the Story...

mudfli told me 1st hand that they went into the room, and when it loaded everything was messed up and they reset their xboxs right away... IDK the whole story, only what i have posted here which i have all heard from Mudfli..

i stumbled into a room last night that had mudfli and his XS in, and there was some heated conversation going on, and i just left right away as it was not my place to be there.

well mudfli told me not to worry and that we would not be punished because we followed all instructions to the T. After talking to Bean Dip he told me the same. The two section leaders just told us to go back to gaming. Unfortunately the next day when I got on I was informed by everyone that Mudfli was given a choice and his choice was to leave. I have not talked to the council, or my section leader, or my general, or my captains for that matter. I do not know the whole conversation of what had transpired in the meeting with council (i have only heard of the "choice" mudfli was given).
