You have to find your clan here and Request to Join. Your General or Section Leader will accept your Request. If you can't find you Squad, then it has not been created yet. If that is the case, then, please, be patient.

I say we still try to do this man. If bungie see that alot people want clans then they may do it! This may sound stupid but XG, KSI and MoB all use halo cause of clan support and if we get with KSI and MoB then anything can happen. I know XG will have at least 15,000 people posting at once and why not add another 10,000 from MoB and KSI. If 25,000 on Halo 2 and XBL go to bungie and request this something may be done. Plus alot of people like being in clans many small clans would probably join in on this and there are many other bigger clans out there also. DoG, LGD, ETC. This is my opinoin i will help just let me know when.

perfect idea although if you wanted to make it work have all the genrals bring it up at the meetings so they can tell the whole clan to do it ......... maybe even have that certain day where everyone gets on and do it...........

For all of you who didn't read all 12 pages of this thread, here is a quick recap... kind of... lol:

Our community is growing larger everyday on other games, all games in the future, moved and published from microsoft, are not going to have clan or squads listed, so the problem is not having a clan list, the problem is the lazy people who use the clan list as a way to track peoples movements, lets face it, the halo clan list is like big brother watching, these other games we are in, are growing faster then the halo clans grew at the start of xg, we have more people in GOW, FEAR, Rainbow, and Chrome hounds then we had in Halo at the start, so there is no reason we cant keep the movement going forward.

We DON'T want a clan list any more! Trust me! As a gamer that ran a clan of 50 people before HALO 2 ever came out and before KSI or XGC, it is for the best! The drama that everyone gets butthurt over and people quit over will be gone! I will talk to everyone about this and show you where it is a GOOD THING! But if you all want to go after it we will have your backs!

The reason for doing away with it is to prevent cheaters from grouping up and causing the same BS drama that we already deal with when we go into matchmaking. They are actively trying to stop it now in GEARS and RAINBOW 6. That is why Microsoft came up with the true skill ranking. I support you guys but they arent going to do it. The idea of an extended friend list or clan list from your dashboard is an idea I have heard thrown around. We will wait and see.

Simmer. We like clans too.

If you spam our forums, all you'll be doing is creating a problem for our moderators and possibly myself, and I already know about it. It wouldn't serve any purpose.

Kpaul works for bungie.net. Clearly. I'm glad this amount of conversation got a response. So KPaul?? What would be a manner in which we should adequately convey the message?
PS. If you like clans too then what was the mentality for Gears?

Bungie didn't make gears. Epic Games did.

(note - discussion about how Microsoft Games Studios is involved with all 360 games went here, but individual software developing companies also are involved, bungie did not work on Gears.)

No. They are not watching our forums. Someone from this thread posted on the bungie.net forums linking back to this thread. You're not going to get a response because they think they have squashed this... which they may have since he mentioned that they like clans too. Can anyone come up with evidence saying that H3 won't have clans (sorry, usually I am anal rententive about checking sources... Not like me guys)?

halo 3 will not support clans

but in fall there is an dashboard update that will have clans for every 360 game all done through you 360 dashboard and so on

Ok all.

Spamming their forums is NOT going to resolve any issues for us. We lost this battle a long time ago, and bungie is not to blame. The corporate mentality that we are dealing with has to take in to consideration the partnership between MS and Bungie. We are looking at how to deal with this out of habit (we were founded in H2, so this is our viewpoint, and we need to take a look at the bigger picture.)

IF (from MS's standpoint) they were to look at the idea of funding their companies servers (Bungie) to handle clans, or, they look at improving ALL of the games that they put out, and the overall gaming experience on XBL for everyone, then what do they do to MAKE MONEY? Keep people on ALL games, purchasing ALL games. If they are going to take the leap and provide us with clans, it will not solely be on H3 that they fund.

It is does not make good business sense to take a huge product such as XBox Live and then tie it down (again, I might add) to a specific game, just because of features in that game. Yes, Halo 2 was their stepping stone to getting gamers addicted to gaming on their console. But, now they they have "finished the fight", how are they going to keep gamers coming BACK to other games, staying on other games, and developing huge gaming communities such as ours, that live and breathe gaming on a daily basis and keep feeding their pockets, then yes, the only sensible solution for them is to provide clan lists in the dashboard.

Maybe they will somehow be linked by game, we don't know. But I do know that this is a corporate decision that probably already has a five-year game plan in the works, any games that are to be coming out from here on out will know about this and adapt to it. We, as consumers, must trust in the fact that they are aware of our desires and needs, and will anticipate them and fulfill them. MS has already provided us gamers with such great features as achievements and gamerscore and our friends lists and so on and so forth, that it would behoove us to have patience and trust in the fact that they have done the market research and understand our needs.

What we can do as a community is to anticipate the possibilities, and be ready with the information about our squads and responsibilities to adapt to whatever they decide to do. The show must go on, and we have great leaders in place with a great understanding of their people and their responsibilities. The best thing for us all to do is get ready to move forward and grow, because that is what is going to happen, no matter what the circumstances!

(Imagine being able to recruit no matter what the game? Then you wouldn't have to worry about who spent what time on what game, because no matter, they would still be meeting other people in other games and recruiting... oh, what a beautiful thing...)
