DO I HAVE TO USE A CLAN TAG?

In all seriousness, do I have to use a clan tag in a game like Black Ops 2? I personally like just having my name there, no strings attached, but is it mandatory that I use one? I'm not trying to have a go here but when I was originally recruited, I was told that either I use the appropriate clan tag UWwR (which was appropriate then) or no clan tag at all. Well, when I chose the latter, I was questioned about it as if I've broken some rule.

If it's about taking pride in the clan, I think I do that well enough with the tag. On many different occasions, I've been asked to join another clan only to respond that I am with XGC. And this happens regardless I keep the tag or not.

So is it absolutely necessary?

It is not mandatory however it just comes down to representing your clan like you said. It helps everyone know that you are in XGC and also the clan and rank.

could we get clarification on the subject. as the honor code states all gamer tags must be in XGC or nothing at all. heres the confusion. if its the gamer tags that supposed to be in xgc then why do we have to wait for sergeant rank to get XGC in our name or was it meant for clan tags? i have always been told clan tags have to be XGC or nothing at all. its more then representing our community. if this isnt mandatory then whos to say if someone who is running a random clan tag puts up another clan name in the tag or something racist or sexist like we have ran into. this is why a lot of XG clans dont know who each person is in games and why so many clans go unnoticed. to me i am a proud member of XG and to my own clan. I personally refuse to run anything other than the clan im in and run it proudly. however there has been people who stated that its personally up to the general and/or section leaders of the clans. if thats their requirement then it has to be followed.

with all that said. i have the 2nd largest clan within XGC with 90+ members and not a single member in my clan has ever had an issue with running the appropriate clan tags or nothing at all.

Clan "tags" are NOT mandatory. We do not punish members for not utilizing a designated tag.

The clan option in COD is nothing more than extended friends list. We recognize someone leaving the community when they give you a verbal message, spam message,or leave a user group. The community does not recognize groups created on a game.
