Im still confused lol, i umderstand you are talking about the chat pad but what does it have to do with gameplay?
Certain people were trying to say that if you have a chatpad you can message friends in the middle of a game without being a disadvantage to your team since it's faster than using a controller.
Other went further and said it was an advantage to spend your time ingame sending a messege because when you've finished you'll catch the enemy team offguard.
Like I've said I don't agree with this and can not see how it would be an advantage especially against good opponents.
My advice would be to buy a set of X11 Turtle Beach headset with that money and just messege in the lobby, not the actual game.

I think it`s negligible risk/reward to take 30 seconds to respond to someone during the game.

Each to their own I guess. Maybe I play at higher levels and my team would get punished pretty hard if I was to take a 30 second break, or maybe your a lot better than me and can afford to do that, idk.
At the end of the day though I would recomend gettin a pair of X11s over a chatpad.

Dude Chat pad is where it is at!!! Turtle beaches don't allow for rapid text entry for spamming and just text communications!!!
