The USA is going to Canada?

In all seriousness though that's what happens when the country goes into a depression. Just ride it out and hope with the new president and all things pick up

The President has no say lol. Congress runs the country. It is going to be hard for alot of people but it has happened before and the states will pull through.

I guess the US will become canadia then... :( lol

But yeah, all we can do is sit and wait until things turn for better or worse. I think we will pull through though. We have before. (great depression) I just hope it never gets that bad.

and also like silvia says its the congress that really runs the country when it comes to domestic issues all the president can do is try to get them to pass something. and in case anyone was wondering where i was going with this whos bein running the congress the last 4yrs. the democrats. now who still has the majority the dems oh and now the president.lol

go ahead guys keep thinking happy thoughts. i guess its a good thing im already working for the military at least i got job security right. oh wait obama is for downsizing the military i guess im screwed no matter which way i go. haha

like some one said prier, the congress control's everything. the President is a pawn in the giant chess game. every time we receive a new president the game starts over. So when he is in the white house for 8years that is one game.
until A) we win the game and every body is equal on the economy . or B) we lose and go in to a depression. that then would mean OUR(usa) king was capture now reset the peace's and start over. that is how i look at it as a whole instead of individual's.

The key is NOT to pull all troops out of Iraq, yes i said it. It will cost more in the long run. slowly get the Iraqi government in control and move out. Afghanistan is more of a threat to the middle east at the moment. but i say let the UN come up with a plan we cannot fight 2 wars. We spend billions in Iraq and we can't afford to dig into the piggy bank for some spare cash. And we need to consolidate all the stupid credit card debit in America. Cash is gold not plastic.

Have too agree with Silvia I'm about to go too boot camp just getting ready and saying my good byes as well but as far us the possibility of pulling the troops back it is the truth we need too pull back in pieces not the entire armed forces cause all that would hapen is Afghanistans government would than collapse without our support.

I'm only 14, so I don't know much about the economy, but these things worry me. I noticed that gas prices dropped like $2.25 and I had asked why. My parents said cuz the economy is falling. Now I'm hearing people are losing their jobs. I just hope we don't have a repeat of the great depression. Maybe I'll actually have to go through with my air force idea. Now it depends on if I can afford college when the time comes.

Life is a scary thing it seems like.

I also think they should raise taxes on gas and oil if they continue to plummet. Gas prices will start killing industry at this rate. The price of shipping is low. But the goods remain at an all-time high. Their is no balance. Also Out sourcing should be limited, or the companies who outsource should be taxed for every job they forfeited to another country. Sad to say taxation will save the country, but it matters how, where, and who you tax.

Silvia bro you should be in government what the hell lol.

Well i am still a little young, but yeah its not hard to understand government, but you cannot be ignorant. Always look back at history to find what works and what does not. Always learn from your mistakes. But with what i said about industry my dad works in the food and shipping industry and all i hear him complain about is the effect of gas prices so i did my research and found out why and how you could improve the situation.
