Hello Juggernaut2025, I read your post, and I am including a post I had written awhile back on the SYN Mafia forum. It explains how we go about recruiting, and it has worked for us very well. I hope it is a help for those that may be having problems recruiting.
Recruiting, the Mafia way.
Recruiting is how this or any other clan grows. recruiting has been outlined on this site, but this is how it is done in SYN MAFIA. It is very close to what has been suggested before, but the process has been tweaked and streamlined to make it more effective. Anybody can recruit, just ask a fellow gamer if they are in a clan. This approach can be effective, but has it's limitations. The following explains the Mafia method, and it is easy to do. A group of 2 to 4 clan members join up, and start looking for lobbies where there are a lot of mics, and very few clan tags. Just play the game, rank up, and do what we all like to do. During the game, look for someone that has the qualities that we look for. Ask them if they want to get picked up. If they are with a friend, bring them both, if it is a party of three, then a clan member will excuse himself and back out. Strangers feel more comfortable when things are more familiar. After picking them up, get back to playing. Two to four games is all it should take to figure out if the gamer is what SYNDICATE is looking for. During the downtime between games, ask them if they have ever thought of joining a clan. They usually answer no. Don't push the issue, let them answer no. Just get back to playing the game with them. This is a variation of "No Man Left Behind". As you play another two or three games, you talk about the clan, clan battles, game night, et cetera, during the game. You are open about it. There are no secrets. They will start to feel an interest in the clan. After playing a few more games, ask them if they would like to know more about the clan. They are at a crossroads. They said no, you treated them with respect, and dropped it. You are asking again if they want INFORMATION. This is the hook that gets them to join.
When you go out recruiting, make sure you have a talker in the lobby. A talker is someone that can talk almost incessantly, but can have a good rapport with most anyone. make sure you have a couple of high K/D players in the lobby, and possibly one player that doesn't have a high K/D. This will show that we are competitive, but not competitive based. If you are out, and have to drop someone to fit more than 2 people in the lobby, make sure that this is prearranged. Show the potential recruits that MAFIA is above board in all aspects, and that we are not judgmental in any way. A sergeant should be in any party that goes out on a recruiting mission, but any rank can go as well. Try to make sure that a Captain or Lieutenant is online when you do this, or possibly a general. Please do not bug any Section Leader about a read in unless it is the last possible means of getting the job done. Most Captains have KIK and can be contacted in this manner if you need to.
An Overview:
2 to 4 clan members in a lobby, at least one is a sergeant.
Pick up a fellow gamer that meets our criteria.
Play a few games, get to know him/her.
Ask if they want to join...if no, continue playing with them, no hard feelings, they may contact you later about joining, if yes, Get them read in.
If no, play a few more games, during this time, talk about the fun stuff in the clan, give good call outs, make them feel like one of us.
Then, after a few more games, ask if they want info or if they want to join.
This is the basic outline of our recruiting process. This is written in an electronic medium, so it can be altered, and do so if it is easier for you. Remember, recruiting builds larger squads, larger squads get split, creating larger clans. Larger clans get split, creating more opportunities for people to rank up into LT, Captain, general, and XS positions. Don't be afraid to be turned down. Just keep recruiting, and keep killing pixels!!!

All new recruits should play with a Captain, a Lt, or General at the least three days, as they are playing look at their demeanor, pay attention to how they speak to clan members as well as randoms in the lobbies and the game play. Please let them know if they are disrespectful that we do not play in that manner, if it does not stop maybe they are not a right fit for us here in XGC.
After determining if they are a right fit, a Captain must read in the new recruit, do not forget to go over the Honor Code in great detail explaining things in the Honor Code as you go, if you need help with this please let me know and I will explain it to you, make sure the clan tag is entered, motto is done and that their squad name comes first then any name they want after that.
Immediately upon recruiting they need to register on the website, you need to walk them through this process, make sure they do join a clan, and also go into their profile and put the rank of recruit on the profile. Also please make sure you ask them if they have any questions or concerns.
Send your message out to the other clan members letting them know of your recruit and make sure to add in there to invite them to play with them.
On your new recruits profile please add this in their visitors messages: this is an example

This is an efficient way to make sure that our new recruits know who they are gaming with and that they know who their officers are. It is also a great way for them to know where to go when they reach private status, and in turn it also helps people feel and also know that we do pay attention to each and every individual person.
Also take time for everyone especially our new recruits, remember we have a motto “No one left behind” And I want to ensure that NOONE is left behind. Always take the time to have time, and answer any and all questions that our clan mates have.
