How do you get your members in your clan to start recruiting?! My clan is struggleing cause hardly any of my members are recruiting like they are suppose to. I mention it every meeting. Im rarely ever give out promotions because no one recruits!

What do you when you ask a member to join your party because you need to talk to them and they never join it when you ask them to they just ignore you.

If you guys would please give me some advice I am would really appreciate it. Im pretty new as general and the head general rarely ever gets ons o Im pretty much running the clan so I trie to stay on as much as I can.

for your first question we had that problem for a while we just recently started getting the recruiting up again. just keep sending out messages to start the recruiting and tell them the recruiting helps with promotions the people that want it will recruit. As for your second question it really depends on rank if its a captain than they may not need to be in that position. if you really need to talk to them keep sending invites and if their party opens up join just let them know that you need to talk to them its harder to refuse if you are in the party with them. but thats just my opinion and thats how i deal with those issues

It can be challenging to get people to recruit. In my experience some people will simply not do it. I have a few tricks.

With some of my people who I know are itching for a promotion, I'll say to them "ok, it's 5 oclock now, if you can get me 2 new recruits by 7, you get your promotion. They must be fully recruited, given the full speech etc. so that all I have to do is send a clan invite, welcome them to the clan, and quickly make sure you didn't miss anything". Sometimes they get the recruits, sometimes they don't. Even when they don't, I usually don't put them in that position unless I was planning on promoting them anyways (probably for other reasons than recruiting ie. good participation, attitude, leadership etc.) so I usually give it to them anyways (shhhhh don't tell everyone that or it won't work anymore). The idea here is that it usually gets them to go out and put in 2 solid hours of recruiting. Then I just tell them that as a part of the promotion they need to continue to put that type of effort in every couple of days.

Another method I am currently using in my clan is whenever someone is recruited, I have my captains tack onto the end of the welcome message who recruited the person. That way the privates, sergeants, and lieutenants can get some praise for the recruiting work they do. Otherwise the Captains can tend to get all the credit for the little guys' work.

My third suggestion, and it's the obvious one, is whenever someone asks for a promotion, how to get promoted, etc. tell them finding good recruits is the fastest way for them to get a promotion. Occaisionally you'll find an amazing recruiter that totally helps your clan, and as a result, shoots up through the ranks. When other clan members see that, they'll want to do the same. They might even be frustrated and say something like "how come so and so got a lieutenant spot before me even though he's only been here a few weeks?" to which you simply reply, "because so and so has brought me 12 (or some good number) quality recruits this week, and you've yet to recruit anybody". That usually gets them moving.

As for your second question. I would say that If they are in a game, its understandable to have to wait until the game is over to speak with somebody, but as the General of your clan you should be the priority over any other chat they might be having in a closed party or anything of that nature. If they are ignoring you are you sure they are actually there and not just leaving a closed lobby with their tag in it? If they do ignore you intentionally and repeatedly, I would warn them first and possibly demote them if they aren't immediately making some sort of effort to hear what you need to tell them. Keep in mind that YOU'RE THE GENERAL. I don't mean power trip, but definitely make sure that the people in your clan know that you are to be heard when you have something to say.

Well I hope some of that helps (if you even read it all). It was kindof a long response, i guess I got carried away. I think these are problems that a lot of Generals have, especially in clans with fewer members.
Good Luck Whipping your clan into shape.

Well this seems to work good for Apocalypse;

You or one of you captains lead a recruitment night with about 5 or 6 of your members and play BTB Skirm. There will usually be 1-2 people joining your party for the game, ask them about it. If they are unsure, ask if they would like to play a couple of games with you, If they are still unsure, send a friend request maybe you will get them one day. Also, having other XGC members form other clans helps as well just to show them how large we are.

Do this once a week, you willl be showing your clan how important it is and how to do it correctly and how to target quality not quantity.

Hope this helps a bit.

Super out

Ok I'm new to being a general (just got promoted Sat.) but when I was a captain I would do just as Super Fat said. Get a party of at least 5-6 people in it go to BTB skirmish. Make sure when you're playing that you use good communication in every aspect possible. Let them see how well all the XGC members work together. Ask them after the game if they'd like to join the party. Showing how well organized and how much fun we have together as a whole seems to have worked the best for me.

Ya, you guys have it exactly right. My suggestions were more for trying to get the other members of the clan motivated to do some recruiting without me having to be there, and it works great, my clan grows surprisingly fast, and I rarely have to do any recruiting anymore.

Recruiting with a group of people in BTB in the sway Oneofeach mentioned has other positive qualities like showing people what XGC is all about, and even if they don't join, letting them see that we use teamwork and communication to achieve our positive results in the game. It actually even works if you go into team of 4 games like hardcore, slayer, snipers etc. with 2 or 3 clan members and try to get the extra player on the team involved in the game. Use their name and call out some shots for them. A quick "behind you [persons name here]" or "thanks for getting that guy off me [so and so]" can work great.

Also, trying to recruit right away can be overwhelming to some people. I usually offer just to party up with them. When people play on a team that has good communication, and that's also joking around and having fun in the game, they usually like to party up. In the post game, offer to party up, sent a party invite and play a few more good games with them. I usually don't try to recruit till the 3rd or 4th game we play for multiple reasons. For one, I like to see how they are and make sure that they're quality XGC material. And the other reason is to let them get comfortable playing with us before you push the idea of joining a clan on them. Make sure that they know it's all about having fun and playing with good friends and good people.

Exactly. Try to get maybe another capt or really any member of another XGC clan with you and that shows them how big we really are.

I have that same problem. I just go over with them what they have done for the clan and what they plan to do. If they havent done much of anything, then guide them on what they need to be doing. Tell them what it takes to become promoted. Give them the quiz that was posted on the Generals forum. If they don't want to take the time to participate in that then explain to them what it takes to be a capt and a gen of XGC.

That is what I do.

I know what you both are saying. I have a guy who is still a private and has been a private for about 2 1/2 months now. Every time he gets on he asks me when he's gonna get promoted up. Only thing I can tell him and anyone else who asks about being promoted, they'll get promoted when I or their captain think they deserve it. I nor are any of the captains in Infinity gonna promote someone who is never on, nor doing anything to help out the clan at all. Don't know if I helped you much on the issue, but in my eyes they'll be promoted when they deserve it bottom line.

this is very good information that i reading hear and i will probably use this in my clan. but there was one thing that i found out moving up through the ranks about recruiting. No matter how much you want to grow and grow, you have to becareful who you let in. dont just send them an invite after 1 or 2 games. get to know them. it might take alittle bit for them to rear their ugly heads, but it will show sooner than later. so just remember this cheasy but true motto for recruting "Quality not Quantity"
Peace,

plus the people that you dont get to know might just be on the band list or not worthy of being in XGC so just remember i would rather be a few members short of 70 than to have to send 64 invites back out to members that was booted by a clan hitter.

I use to have them come up to me and ask can they get promoted when do I? What I did was on the clan forums I posted guide line and my expectations in order for them to get promoted. I tell them don't come up to me till you have done everything I listed in our forums on my expectations for a promotion. After that I hardly have any of them comeing up to me asking for promotions. Believe it or not the list of my expectations have boosted up the recruiting alittle.

If you like to see the thread I posted up go to Helljumper forums. If they keep asking you for a promotion still and have not followed your expectations tell him what he needs to improve. Also, if they keep coming up to you asking you every day tell them they will not get promoted if they keep asking. Make sure your clan checks up on your clan forums as well.
