Anyone else notice how certain gamers are act real brave when and foul when they can hide behind their gamertag and mic. Just saying... most of these kids wouldn't say crap if they were in the same room as most of us. Do any of you have any suggestions on how xbox live could change this??? curious.

Xbox can't change this. As players we need a bit of introspection and adjust ourselves as needed. The fix for those aho become vulgar behind the mic, must start at home the place where they live. They're carelessness of others is apparent, there's really nothing anyone else can do. Xbox live has installed a reporting system and a player review option, that's about as much as they can do.

Every time I hear a person start raging like that talking all big with little swear words, I always say, "Oh look a foul mouth child has found his way onto XBL, okay let me just mute you and now to kick you." Works like a charm.

yeah people have been doing this since the internet went live... unfortunately there is no ethical way to fix it... it just shows how low the self esteem of a large sample of the world is, because they feel the need to bully people online...

people on the internet just think they are cool because they can talk crap to others and not get hurt or touched by the person they are talking crap too..in real life they probably keep their mouth shut because they know they can get into serious trouble lol. its sad.

If your not getting that hate mail your not playing the game right. I always ignore it personally. Its just xbox. Best thing anyone can do is just mute, block and report. Let your K/D do the talking.

Like what a lot of people have been saying: it's just the unfortunate truth of Xbox Live. I always find that when someone is being a "special" kind of person, if I act cordially and nicely toward them it pisses them off to the point where they'll stop talking. It makes a point to others in the lobby that not everyone with a mic on XBL is a tool, and it's gotten me a few recruits. :p

Report players who you consistent foul language. and award people who dont use foul language with double xp, or something. It would give players insentive to just play the game and have fun. after all, it is just a game that players are supposed to enjoy. i HATE getting in lobbies where players consistently drop fbombs, i dont mind if they do it at themselves or because they died before something really important, but i cannot put up with it when they direct it towards another player.

Its called the power of anymosity people get brave because they arent in your face. But when people trash talk honestly the best route to take is to mute players who do such especially if it bothers you

As Daystar has pointed out, you may convince more recruits by being a good example. Tempting as it is to immediately retaliate, you may try to turn their attitude around with sportsmanship, compliments, comments, and a sincere love of the game. Reduce the volume of your mic if they're loud, and if they talk over people and/or won't let someone get a word in, confront them or use your options "creatively."

The internet is a formula for being careless among other things.

Normal person + Anonymity + Audience = Total D**kwad

Solution: Don't be a stranger.

There really isn't much you can do besides muting the people. I wouldn't engage any further in conversations with them. It just makes you look bad for continuing on. Sure you have the right to defend yourself, but it just brings so much negativity to your gaming experience and if your with a party it might effect them too. Just try your best to ignore it. Most likely they are really young and are just going through that phase of trash talking. I'm sure we have all seen it. It's a shame that it happens a lot. :( I hope your future gaming experience is so much better. :)

its a game. let em talk all they want since they're gonna do it anyways. Just let your gaming skills do the talking for u. words are words. one ear out the other. nothing to dwell on or get mad about. if they are better players then u. oh well. step ur game up and take em out. if ur already better then them then take em out until they shut up and leave. My old clan used trash talking as a mind game. see who can "anger" the other team off the most so they would be pissed and wont play as well as they should. xbox created the mute button for a reason. some people need that attention since they dont get it from their parents.
