If someone that is experienced in paintball could give me a good view on both it would be greatly appreciated. Also I am new to the sport so some of the things I may not understand but I am very experienced in airsoft.

First I would strongly suggest you go with a compressed air tank, rather than CO2, it is much more consistant when firing and in the long run cheaper to run.
Most Paintball Fields charge $10 for all day air, but they charge per fill for CO2, Pure Energy makes a relativley cheap compressed air tank, for about $100. It's not carbon wraped and looks alot like a regular co2 tank, they also have a larger tank that is carbon wrapped for about 200.

Proto makes one eck of a marker, so you won't be disappointed, I also like Kingman Spyder's they are nice also.

As far as the clothing go, I paintball in my BDU's and my Ghillie suite so I couldn't tell you about all that, I play woods ball. I have an ARIAKON SIM4 RIS ELITE, W/ lots of upgrades.
I use a SPYDER IMAGINE, wich needs replaced, I want to get a better marker for speedball, but since I don't pla alot of speedball, it can wait!

Well I got it today but I was blown away at how much it really cost me. My friend brought it for me because he works at a market on sundays and they have a paintball gun stand. It was $200 dollars and the SLG only runs on electric hoppers and compressed air, so that cost me another $90 and then Diablo Paintballs which was $12 so I ended up digging in my draws to find $302.

TODAY I ORDERED MY STUFF!!!!
I Ordered it on http://www.ansgear.com its a great site look around!

I Ordered
- Proto Matrix 2008 08 SLG Paintball Gun - Dust Black
- Guerrilla Air Compressed Air Tank W/ Myth Regulator 62/3000
- Dye Lock Lid 160rd Paintball Pods 6 Pack Deal - Red
- DXS Triumph Paintballs - 500 Rounds - Orange
- 32 Degrees Standard 200 Rnd Hopper (This was definatly not what I wanted)
It all totaled up to around $302.00 (With FREE Shipping)
I was happy with what I got but not at all with the hopper. My dad thought that this would be a good starter hopper so I got that instead of my torque which could actually keep up. It is gravity fed and shoots about 5-8bps and I wasn't to happy about that judging that I bought a $200 26bps Speedball gun.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now that I got what I wanted this thread is open for discussion of paintball in any forms or ways.

Got my stuff delivered today I am very happy all that my HPA Tank of course came unfilled and that my dads generator cant produce enough pounds or whatever of air to fill. Otherwise it seems like a good gun (I wanted a gun better then a Tippman), and I am still trying to practice the double trigger thing. Not so great at it yet, but ill try!

I played paintball today for the first time! I also got to shoot it for the first time at todays paintball complex haha! It was awesome I like it so much better then airsoft (since I play both). Surprisingly my 32 Degrees hopper held in their fine!?!? I only played speedball once today and we played 1 Ball which was stupid, but otherwise my hopper kept up fine in woodsball just had to shake it a couple times to get it to fall into the feedneck so the eye would register.

you wont be upset with the gun... its fairly fast and inexpensive... but you are right it will need both an electronic hopper and compressed air... and all i can say for new players is the more you are scared the more it will hurt... so dont just sit back and hope you dont get shot cuz then you will get shot point blank and thats sucks... have fun and good luck... i used to be semi pro in speedball team but it was dismembered consittering it got too expensive to play and two players went on to be pro... havnt played much sence

Cool cool yeah though only thing that sucks is I dry fired my gun 3 times at the end of the day when the complex was closes and it snapped an o ring and now air is leaking out of the bolt.
