You can use a Dazzle HD. I have one myself and yes you can use them on non-HDTV's. However be aware of the cables you must by and also you will need a computer with quite a bit of ram. The cables you will need is obviously an av splitter so you can use them to record on the pc and also play whilst on you tv. You may neeed av extensions so you can reach the tv and your capture card. Like I said, make sure your pc is up to it because my pc is two slow so I had to do away with the dazzle and get an mpeg4 recorder the records straight onto memorycard.

my computer has about 4 gigs of ram and only 33% is used now i think i should be fine, but does the dazzle allow you to record in game chat with the video? cuz i dont want to do commentary i just want some in game reactions and just funny stuff we say added

No problem. To record voices you must go to the xbox guide, go preferences, voice then make it either speaker or both. Reason being is because it is recording everything that comes out of the tv audio. Note: It will not record your voice :(
