I have never been bitten my Kaa and I hand feed him medium rats once every 2 weeks unless its winter. I do agree they are nothing to be afraid of but when you have small kids in the house having a big snake is not a good idea when I was little little some family friends had a 12 foot python and anytime I would come over he would follow me around in his tank trying to get to me to eat me but thats just instinct he saw all that body heat from something that he could fit in his mouth. As for a chameleon I have always wanted one but its a constant chore making sure they have the right humidity and environment. When we got Rex we really did not know what we were getting into thankfully he does fine just running around the house with no tank. Our dogs are scared of him and we have pits lol when hes hungry he tries to chase them if they get close.
