CONVERSATION: OUR SOUL

Isn't it funny how conversation is the only way to know a person? People are made from their memories, their personalities, their hobbies...but the only way to communicate what's important to us, is through our words. Whether it's sign language, witting, or verbal communication, that's the only way to peer into the depths of a person's soul. It's a crude method, demanding trust from all who look it's way, and requiring an honest soul to tell it's secrets. It isn't what we do that makes up who we are, everybody has their good days, everybody has their bad days...the same goes for a single week, or a month...but at our core, we're an individual. It's just a matter of finding our way of reaching out, and finding a person out there who can draw "us" out.

Isn't it funny though? how rigorously we're drilled on proper speech etiquette and how to behave? There is still an art each person uses when aligning their words and sentences, but with there already being several languages acting as a barrier to reaching everybody, why limit the expression we have within those that understand our language? changing words, adding new ways of spelling...they're more ways of self expression, and even if i can't tell you how different a person who says "wtf, kewl/kool/cool, l8r/later, or any other manipulation of the original word, it's a blueprint to what's important to them. With all the pieces of a person, you still may not be able to understand them...but every bit helps, wouldn't you say?

What do you have to contribute to a conversation? is it your witty replies? Your humorous outlook on life? your positive outbursts? your random statements? your energy? your solid founded statements? your superior knowledge? your education? your logical abilities? your sport know-how? your ideas of "what to do"? everything has something they bring to the table, no matter how strong. We all have hobbies, we all have things we prefer over things which we dislike. Those opinions and outlooks on the things around us is our contributions. From there, we attract attention. From there we can try and discover if there are people out there who can really understand our soul.

words all have a meaning if we look into a dictionary, but words can also be used as symbols. They can body ideas, ideals, emotions...anything we choose. Words aren't rigid, they represent the world we are trying to express. Each person views the world in their own light, at any given moment. We have only our forms of communication to relay that, and it requires a multitude of words, often used in ways they aren't described as representing in a dictionary. communication is fluid, it has many meanings depending on the person, the mood...conversation surpasses simply a vocal level. It surpasses the language itself, and embodies a tunnel into our worlds. We have no other way to tell it, and thus the way we communicate and express ourselves, is our precious avenue which can be shared or manipulated as we see fit. This is who we are. This is the limited art we must master to introduce others to ourselves. So i ask you, what do you have to offer?
