Generals:

Name Change Requests
Name Change Requests for the clans can be located on the clan Forums but should not be stickied. It will move back to the top of the list each time there is a post. Once the General has the reviewed the names, then they post in their XS's forum with the final names for submission. Each XS will approve or deny the names on their forum. If no record of approval, the name change will be denied by admin.

Innovation & Suggestions:
Any new ideas or suggestions that you all have are encouraged to be brought forward using the Open Door Policy. If the idea shows promise of innovation within the community, it will be brought forward for consideration. You, as leaders, should feel completely comfortable to approach us with fresh and relevant ideas.

Clan Split Apps:
Just as was stated with the Name Change Requests, names of newly developed clans cannot match names of currently active members nor clans that are already existing. When you are choosing a name for your new clan, make sure you have a few viable options to choose from so you're not stuck if the name is already taken. Do your research!

Staying in Your Lane:
When issues come up it should be communicated in a timely manner to the respected General. They shouldn’t be hearing about things until way late. A simple message to notify the General should suffice. Also, stay in your own lane. You have your own clan to focus on. You shouldn’t be getting too involved in other Clans, that’s not your place unless invited in by that respected General.

Usergroup Leaders:
There have been instances as of recent that when new members or transferring members go to join a usergroup, an error shows up that takes them to a white screen. The reason this is happening is because of one of the usergroup leaders having their XG inbox full. Please make sure you're consistently emptying your inbox of messages that are no longer needed so this error does not occur.

To further this note, there are subscriptions that you can purchase on the website that will expand your inbox to keep this from happening if you choose to do so. They are available in your Settings>Paid Subscriptions (scroll down and it's on the left hand side).

Recruitment/Read In:
The Honor Code and Rank Structure are to be read every time that you are reading in a recruit. The three (3) things that a member must understand when they are being recruited/read in are the Honor Code, the Rank Structure, and the Forum Rules & Guidelines. Skipping over any parts of the Honor Code when reading this to a recruit is unacceptable. Nothing should be skipped. Hold yourself accountable for what you are training your members to do. Make sure you're teaching the right things the right way. You start setting a bad example or teaching things wrong, you will create a lot of confusion and maybe, perhaps, chaos.

Clan Lists & Squad Lists:
Lists are due March 31st. This means that you and your Captains can start posting your lists on Wednesday, March 28th to meet the deadline of when they need to be posted. Please ensure this is done so your XS doesn't have to chase after you to get it done. If your Captain cannot post their list, then it is up to you to ensure that this gets done. One team, one goal.

Easter Weekend (March 30-April 2):
Just so you all know, next weekend there will be no meetings conducted as it is Easter Weekend. Enjoy the time spent with your families!

Xiled Gaming will be streaming more frequently and we highly encourage you to follow! If you haven't signed up for Mixer already, it's very quick and easy to do so. XG Meetings Notes
April 8, 2018

Generals Meeting Attendance:
It's your responsibility to get into a meeting if your Section Leader hasn't already directed you to someone else in the case they will be absent. You should be reaching out to other XS's for invites and not just wait for someone to invite you. Make sure you are adding all of the XS's in your division to your friends list to ensure you have another XS to attend a Generals meeting with.

Appearing Offline:
Appearing offline is not always a bad thing. We understand that you don't want to be disturbed sometimes for various reasons. However, leaders can not appear offline all of the time and leave it to your clans to guess if you are online or not. Even clan members should not be appearing offline all of the time. Part of the reason people join the community is to socialize with members and if everyone is appearing offline, the socializing will not happen.

Communication:
As we all know Communication is the Key to Success; therefore communication needs to be consistent. Gnerals, if you are going weeks without being in touch with you clans (other than Sunday meetings) then you are not doing your job to be successful and your clan will suffer. XSs, if the only time you spend with your generals is at Sunday meetings, then you are not doing your job and your section will suffer. Work on doing a better job of being a better communicator because your clan or section need an effective leaders that put an emphasis on communication.

The members of Xiled Gaming will now have the ability to purchase the "Color of the Month" subscription, and transform their user name into a magical rainbow of color. Generals: meeting notes for 4/15/2018

Political & Religious Posts in Chats:
There are to be no politically charged or religious topics to be brought into any communication chats (IE: Voxer, Discord, Kik, Etc.). If the content posted is a topic that could be perceived as politically charged, then it should not be posted in the chats.

Captains Usergroup Removals:
Please make sure all your Captains are in this usergroup and if they are not a Captain anymore they need to be requested to be removed.

Planning for Success:
When we are being reactive instead of being proactive, we are not being productive. Have a game plan and make sure all of your members are on the same page. Not the same book or chapter but the same page.

Usergroup Requests:
When a recruit signs up on the website to join the community, they do not need to be accepted into the usergroup until the recruitment period is over (one week). This will keep your usergroup from getting out of control if that potential member ends up not making it to Private.

Design Team Open House:
This event has been scheduled for Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern. Any and all that are interested in designing, enjoy designing (don't have to be amazing) and are willing and able to make decent graphics for our website are welcome to join! PM an XC if you are wanting to attend this event or have additional questions.

XS MEETING NOTES

Generals:

Captain's Usergroup Requests:
Captain's Usergroup Requests have three (3) requirements to be completed in order to be accepted. They are:
1. Captain must be listed as Captain rank on the Clan List;
2. Captain must have squad list posted; and
3. Captain must use the correct request format in order to be accepted into the usergroup (General - Clan Name).

If your Captain has been denied entry into the usergroup, one of the three (3) things as mentioned above have not been completed.

Clan Forums:
Your clan forums are your main way of communication in the community. These are not just meant to update clan lists and squad lists. XS's and Generals should be using the forums for communication. If you're not, please start using these more then your mobile app group chats to communicate.

Name Changes:
It has come to our attention that there is another way to view the gamertags to ensure that a name is not already taken/banned. Instead of using the Member's List to check for gamertags that are already taken, use your Friends List and use the search bar in there. When the Member's List search bar is used, it does not bring up members who are banned where as the Friends List does.

Valued Leader:
Valued Leader is back. Do you know a leader who has made a difference? A leader who has made an impact? A leader who took the time to teach you everything you know? Then this is your opportunity to nominate them into the Leader of The Month Poll (Valued Leader Award). You the member will be given the opportunity to have your voice heard. You will post the leader of your choice (XS and up) and a brief description why you feel they deserve the title of Valued Leader. The Leader will then be placed in a poll. The winner of the poll will be awarded with the Valued Leader Banner. The polls are up. >>Click Here<< to go to the forum.

XG Inbox:
Keep your XG inbox cleaned up so it doesn't fill up to the point where you can't receive PMs. If you are wanting to expand your XG inbox storage, here are subscriptions that you can purchase on the website that will expand your inbox to keep this from happening if you choose to do so. They are available in your Settings>Paid Subscriptions (scroll down and it's on the left-hand side).

XG Meeting Notes

April 29, 2018

Generals:

Clan Lists:
Clan Lists are due tomorrow (April 30, 2018). This means that you and your Captains can start posting your lists to meet the deadline of when they need to be posted. Please ensure this is done so your XS doesn't have to chase after you to get it done. If your Captain cannot post their list, then it is up to you to ensure that this gets done. One team, one goal.

Clan Activities:
Ensure that the clan activities/game nights you host with your clans are in conjunction with the Honor Code. If this note is applying to you, you need to read up on the Honor Code and make sure that are staying within the boundaries of the Honor Code to ensure no punishment will become a consequence.

Promotions:
Promotions are earned not rushed period! It's our jobs as leaders to keep an eye out for potential and to ensure that everyone is on the right track with their promotions. Bad promotion negatively affects everything they touch. You will be held accountable. Promotions are a big deal and are taken very seriously. Think everything through and be thorough with your decision.

Training The Future:
Leadership Training should be taking place all the time. If your clan is going good, keep training leadership. We have seen many instances where a clan is good but then something happens and the captain or Lieutenant have to go inactive and the clan falls apart. The purpose of having the next set of leaders ready is so that they can step up when their time comes. To know if this occurs be active with your clans and get to know the leaders and future leaders. Don't take someone's word about what's going on.

Choosing "Primary Games" for Your Clan:
If someone were to go to the "Join a clan" link and go through each clans "Primary game(s)", they would safely assume that at least some people in the clan actively play those game(s). Similarly, we need to make sure that games listed in "Primary" reflect games where a Recruit or even another member transferring in would be able to have plenty of people to play with.

Color of the Month - Proper Way to Display It:
If you purchase the Color of the Month subscription, make sure to to select "Identify me as a member of this group" to "Color of the Month" in the "Join a clan" link under the usergroups you are currently a part of at the bottom of the page.. If you don't, your username will not change color and will default to whichever usergroup you currently have chosen. Please contact your superior to help guide you through the process if necessary.

XGC Meeting Notes

Generals:

Class Notes & Test Questions:
Anyone caught sharing their class notes and/or test questions will be immediately removed from the community. Our Core Values are Honor, Courage, Commitment and we expect everyone to abide by these standards.

Relationships Within XG:
XG strongly discourages romantic relationships in the community. We are not an online dating service. There are other venues to pursue this activity. If you are looking out after your sexual satisfaction, you are not dedicating your time and energy for the betterment of our community.

Event Messages:
When events are around the corner, make sure to to get them out there by spreading the word. The proper channels to do this are, for example, on our website, Xbox clubs, or your activity feed. You should not be sending direct group messages to individuals to advertise events.

Mobile Apps (Smart Glass, Voxer, KIK, Xbox app on Windows 10, Texting):
These are all great ways to communicate with your clan and others in the community. On some chat/text apps you can create groups and invite your squad/clan members so that you can keep in touch outside the console and website. These are not to be used to replace the website or console but as an extension of them. Verbal communication is always better than texting.

Promotion Reflection:
It is important that you thoroughly consider all aspects of a position before you promote someone to fill that seat. Before even considering, that member should be able to fulfill the next rank responsibly with no issue. If that member cannot fulfill the basic responsibility, then obviously they still require training and that is your responsibility as a General.

Any subscriptions that are acquired through the website (GWG, Platinum, Gold, Site Supporter, etc.), the money provided goes back into the maintenance of the website and fund tournaments hosted by Xiled Gaming. Council does not pocket this money like evil business men. Rumors of these facts need to be halted and extinguished.

XG Meeting Notes:
May 20, 2018

Forum/Website Issues:
If you or someone in your clans are experiencing forum issues, be aware that you can report them in the 'Forum Problem' area in the help desk. Please make sure before posting that your issue has not already been answered or solved with steps on how to solve the problem. Also, there is a link for resetting a members password, please make sure they utilize this function prior to seeking an Admin. If you need any assistance, make sure to hit up a Section Leader or Division Leader. You can view the forum by clicking here.

XG Bible-the XG bible has been updated and all of the post have been answered. Review the threads and make sure that you are reviewing the thread often, because entries can be added at any time and it is your responsibility to stay up to date on the information. The official answered responses are the ones that are to be informed or are changes in procedures. Any major changes resulting from bible entries will be published in the Weekly Updates.

Reading in new Recruits :
When reading people in make sure you go over the Honor Code as well as the rank structure. Make sure they know who their leadership are. Also make sure they know what XS, XD, XC , and XI means so in case they join their party, have any questions etc.

Name Changes:
There are still name changes being approved that are too similar to names that have already been approved in the community. As an XS, you are responsible for verifying that the names meet all the requirements of XG. If you do not understand the requirements, please hit up an XD. Communication:
As we know, "Communication is the Key to Success." Part of the communication that has to imperatively clear is when discussing expectations and goals. When working with general's who are not meeting expectations, the conversation needs to be direct and clearly outline what they need to work on, the plan of action, and the timeline in which results are expected. The details of this conversation should be placed in the Section Updates.

Also, if a member asks to speak with you or asks a question, get back to them in a timely manner. Ignoring a members request causes issues and displays a lack of respect or caring.

Summer time:
With the summer months approaching, this should be a good time to find some new members who have more time on their hands. Make sure we are looking to find the next members for XG.

Also this is a good time to make sure that each clans User Groups are up to date. Also, make sure that the members are communicating when they will be inactive due to trips, vacations, etc..

Generals NOTS 6/3/2018

Communications:
Although we know that mobile communication is more convenient for communications within the clans and sections, it is still expected of you to communicate on the console for any issues that arise. As leaders, it is inappropriate to be having any discussions regarding your clans/sections on mobile apps. We are leaders on Xbox, not mobile app leaders and all leaders should be conducting themselves as such.

Previously, we discussed making sure your members are communicating when they were going to be on vacation or taking trips over the summer. Along this line, as a leader in the community, you should be communicating this information as well. So if you are taking a week off to head to the beach, camping, or whatever, make sure that you not only informs your section or clan, but also inform those up the chain of command. That way if an issue arises while you are gone, everyone knows who to contact and it can be dealt with.

Recruiting & Usergroup Requests:
When reading in new Recruits, the Honor Code and Rank Structure should not be paraphrased. They are an important element of Xiled Gaming and need to be read fully to the new Recruits so they understand what is expected of them in our community.

Furthermore, when someone is recruited, the General needs to be notified by the Captain. Moreover, the Captain needs to be adding the member onto their squad list. The General shouldn't have to investigate. They shouldn't be denying requests unless the person is not supposed to be in the usergroup.

We are finding that recruits are being copied and pasted on the Clan and Squad Lists and are recruits for weeks. Either they are promoted after the seven (7) days after joining, or they are not a fit for the community. Get with that recruit and get them promoted. They could be our future leaders in the community. Don’t let them sit and forget about them. Get with them, game with them, and work with them.

XiledGamingoCom and Twitch Usergroups:
XiledgamingoCom
XiledgamingoCom is a usergroup for a clan in XGC, it is not a forum for everyone in every division. There are alot of new recruits in all divisions joining this usergroup along with there clans usergroup. When having a new member join their respective usergroup, please make sure they are not joining this one as it causes a headache to know if the clan has new recruits or if members are just joining. It makes alot of unnecessary research for XS and general of the said clan.

Twitch
When trying to join the Twitch usergroup, please make sure members are posting their Twitch URL for their stream page and the person who recruited them in the textbox when putting in request to join usergroup. If that is not in there, the request will be deleted immediately if not requested in the correct format.

Promotions:
As leaders in the community, it's imperative that we are guiding and putting the right people in the position (Lt, Captains, Generals, ect.) We shouldn't just be filling a position just because its available and we're rushing to fill that vacant spot. This will not only cause issues in the future, but will prevent progress within your clans. Promotions are earned not given!

XG Bible:
The XG Bible is now available for the Generals view so you, as Generals, can ensure that you are running your clans with the proper procedure. The XG Bible can be found >>HERE<<. You will see that there are three subforums located in this forum. They are as follows:

1. Bible Submissions: this forum is for any question/change that has been submitted to be included within the Bible that goes under review by the chain of command (XC and XI). There are three (3) stages that each submission goes through when a submission has been entered.
Submitted: The post has been successfully submitted.
Under Review: An XC/XI has seen your question and will be bringing it before the XC/XI body for review.
Complete: The question has been discussed by the leaders and a decision has been made.

2. Completed Submissions Archive: Once all submissions have undergone the submission process, all entries will be moved to this Archive for future reference.

3. Official Bible Entries: If the decision was made on a submission to implement it as a set in stone rule/procedure within the community, it will be added to this subforum for future reference. Before submitting a question in the Bible Submissions, please search this subforum to ensure that the question has not already been asked and implemented within the community.

Accountability
As a leader in XG, you have displayed the drive and desire to be an asset to help XG grow. However, once you reach the next level, are you holding yourself, your peers, and your clans accountable to the high standard that XG requires? Are you using the tools that are available to continue to grow the community and future leaders? Or are you taking it easy, now "that you made it?" You must hold yourself accountable to continue to grow as a leader and to uphold the ideals of XG. This is done with your day to day attitude and actions being consistent with what is expected of a leader in XG. You cannot be effective if you are only being accountable part of the time.

Clan Meeting Notes:
Clan meeting notes are important to keep your clan members who couldn't make the meeting, your Section Leader as well as the XD team informed of what is happening within your clan. Please ensure that you are posting your meeting notes so everyone can be kept up-to-date with the progression of your clan.


Weekly Meetings
Make sure you are meeting with your members weekly. Have fun, game , recruit, solve issues, and talk to your members. Be there for them and they will be there for you. Be a Xbox Leader not a mobile app text message leader.

Striving for Success:
As leaders in the community, we've all accepted the responsibility of that rank. Complacency is our enemy! Ask yourself what can you do to improve yourself as a leader? What can you do to be better than you were yesterday? What small steps can you take in the right direction? These are the questions you should ask yourself. You should never be too comfortable. There’s always something to be critiqued as leaders in this community so let's get out there and make a difference.

Clan Identity:
Generals should feel a sense of pride in their clan as it is their home in SYN. You, as a General, should be wanting to find a niche in the Division and in the Community. Your clan should have its personal identity and relevance. If that is not the case, you should be considering what steps are necessary to make yourself and your clan involved.

Communication:
Many times we have discussed the importance of communication and the fact that it is the Key to Success of XG. Information needs to be shared up and down the chain of command so that everyone is working as one team to continuously improve XG. For the most part, the leaders of XG do a good job of disseminating the information, as requested. No one should have an issue sharing upcoming game nights, Game with Fame, or of a recent promotion or clan split, because this is good news.

However, as a leader in XG, you must also be able to have any "difficult" conversations when needed. If someone in a leadership position is failing short of the requirements and expectation, a conversation needs to be had to explain where they are lacking, what they need to do to correct the deficiencies, and the timeline to do so. In order to recognize when these types of conversations are needed, you must be actively engaging the leadership of your clans or sections. By being a proactive leader and being willing to have the needed conversations, your clan or section will have the leadership needed to be successful, thus making XG stronger.

Recruiting and Activity:
Recruiting members is fun and the numbers can look good on your clan. However, we do not recruit people just for numbers. It is imperative that we recruit quality members that are going to be beneficial to our clan, and be people who others enjoy gaming with. Also, it is imperative that we are not just recruiting members and never following up with them, bring the members activities and excitement from the community!

Responsibility of Running Your Clan:
The clan that you are the General over is your responsibility. The success or failure falls completely on your shoulders, and this makes the Generals to be the back bone in the community. With this being said, you are expected to fulfill all of you General's requirements. If you are having an issue within your clan that you need guidance on, you are expected to ask for help. Do not let your clan fall beneath your reach because you want to be egotistical.

Open Door:
Utilizing the open door policy is something that all of the members can use to communicate the leaders. We can utilize this to communicate issues, ideas, or anything further things. However, this is not to be used for expedited request that need to be addressed by your chain of command.

Chain of Command:
Following up with the previous note, we do not abuse using the open door policy by sharing little issues with the higher ranks, most of the time, we will refer you to your leader straight above you. However, for an example: if you have an issue with your Section Leader, this is the time where you would contact a Division Leader and discuss your concerns.

Moderators

Being a moderator on the website is a privilege. If you are a moderator ensure you are doing your job. Sticking threads, archiving old clan lists, reporting inappropriate posts etc. Just because you are eligible to be a moderator doesn’t mean you need to be a moderator ASAP. Get to know your role as a General and learn those responsibilities. Be patient an sign up for a moderators
class to learn more responsibilities when the opportunity arises.

Also, work with your XS to make sure that things are getting done correctly until you get the hang of the procedures.

User group/Clan Updates:

An Update Clan Request and an User Group Removal request are required when a general steps down, is demoted, or goes inactive. Doing these items allows the admins to remove the moderator privileges of the previous general, if applicable, and to be the new general the correct user group privileges. If the previous general is staying I. The clan, a user group removal request is still need to get them removed from the General's user group.

Also, when doing user group removal requests, make sure that the spelling of the gamer tag is correct. The easiest way to make sure this is done is to copy and pasted from the user group list.


Setting and achieving Goals

In the Intro to General's class, one of the topics covered is the fact that the general is the team leader. In being that team leader, one of your most important task is having goals for you clan and setting the plan of action and expectations to achieve those goals. These goals are organic to each clan and should be updated and revised on a continuous basis.

Example of some goals are growing the clan, growing the leadership, working on a squad split, working on a clan split, communicating better with all members of the clan, better meeting attendance, etc.. As you can see the goals are determined by the clans need at the time, but there should always be a goal. So, if you do not have any goals set for your clan, it is time to take a look at your clan, work with the leadership and see what needs to be done to make the clan better. Your section leader is a great resource to help you establish obtainable goals for your clan.

Clan and Squad List:
Clan and squad list are to be verified by the Section Leaders and Generals today. Make sure this is completed. Also, if you have not compared your Clan List to your User Group within the last 30 days, now is a good time to do that, as well.

Discord chat

We are putting a stop with using the Discord chats to ask for classes. It is the General's responsibility to sign-up for/attend the classes they need. If there isn't one posted, then wait. If the General can't make the one posted, then wait for the next one. Utilize the website. Leaders should be accustomed of doing so don’t be complacent.

Also the same with asking if someone is available online in the XG Leaders chats. Simply be patient and wait until someone gets online. This is a game at the end of the day and we all have real life’s. Whatever it is that you need to talk about can wait for somone to get online. Instead of going straight to the chat to ask for an XD, try hitting up a peer instead. You would be surprised by what you can accomplish with your peer group.

The Discord chat also is not the place to ask lazy questions (ones that you can get the answers to yourself with a little research.) so do not get into the habit of doing that either.

Motivation and Innovation

As an XS or general, it is your responsibility to provide the tools that are necessary for your generals and clan leaders to be successful. You got to the rank of XS or general because you were motivated to do the job requirements to reach the next level: so are you instilling that motivation into your generals or are you setting back and letting them do their own thing, hoping they will figure it out? You should be communicating with your generals about what it took for you to run a successful clan and assisting them in how to accomplish the tasks. For example, they should understand why it is important to always be recruiting, training leadership, holding clan events, joining community events, etc., as these pertain the success of the clan and to them being able to reach the goals that they have established.

So what happens when you have this conversation with your general, but they say they have tried to do those but nothing is working? That is where Innovation comes in. If the way you are approaching a problem is not yielding positive results, you have to be able to try new approaches. If recruiting is not working because everyone is in party chat, try game chat. If no one is showing up for meetings, combine it with a game night or do a movie night. If you you come across issues that you haven't faced before and are not sure of another approach, hit up a peer to see if they have some ideas or get with a section leader or division leader.

The more active that you are on the website, the better of a leader that you will become.

You should also be training your future leaders to utilize the website. There is a direct correlation between successful clans and the amount of clan four and website activities.


Complacency & Time:
Remember we should always be striving to better ourselves. The day we grow complacent, is the day we start to move backwards. Keep going forwards! Time is limited, so choose what you want to do with it. Do you want to sit around and do nothing? Or make the decisions that will make you happy and ensure your destiny? It's ultimately up to you.

Generals:

Add the XG Leaders:
Add The Leaders: All generals/Section Leaders need to add the Section Leaders and Division Leaders in their division and all Community Leaders and Council Members.

Due Diligence:
Just sending a message out is not sufficient. Leader's need to actively pull members into their party and communicate with them. It is never alright to be okay with losing members. Our priority should be to retain the members we have recruited.

Establishing Priorities:
It is important that you prioritize your limited amount of time that you have on the box. We do not expect you to have to deal with XG business the whole time while you are on the box. However, we do expect that you are taking care of business or issues in a timely manner. That means getting what needs to be done, done. If you know you need to speak to a general(s) for your weekly meeting, knock that out when you first get on, then enjoy your evening. If you become better at managing your time, your duties will not build up until you feel overwhelmed.

Another point regarding setting priorities, if you have a squad that is having issues or is not doing so well, you need to spend more time helping out in this squad than you need to with a squad that is doing well. It is your job to ensure the success of the clan, so you need to be helping find solutions or providing input, or setting goals for the clan.

Game Boards:

We get a lot of questions about whether or not there are clans playing ESO or World of Tanks, or if there is a group with a server on ARk, etc.. A great location to find out about these games is in the Game Boards Forums on the website. This area can be used for discussing strategies, up coming game events, and for folks looking to find members playing certain games. This area can be a valuable resource for our members, especially with new games starting to roll out soon, if utilized. In order for this area to be useful, a few of things must occur:

1)The information about the use of the Game Boards has to be spread to all of our members.
2) Memebrs must utilize the forums and post information about what they are doing, what they are looking for, and what they have coming up on certain games.
3) Members looking for that information have to utilize the forum to connect with those members of those games.

The games with their own sub forums are subject to change, depending on the desires of the members and the popularity of the game. So if you are looking to chat about or get information out, or are looking for information about a particular game that does not have a sub forum, make a post in the general forum and get the ball rolling.

Gaming with Leadership::
There has been some comments that clan members would like to game more with the leadership of XG. When I hear this comment, the first question asked is, "Has anyone contact a leader about joining them to game?" Leadership is more than happy and willing to game with clan members but we have to know the when and where to be able to participate, but we cannot attend what we don't know about.

This can easily be accomplished through communication by send a message on the website or Xbox about up coming game nights or events that you are having in your clans. There are also Game with Fame nights and Event nights set up by the Events Team that leadership attends regularly.

Clan Meetings:

There seem to be some confusion regarding clan meeting and if it's required or not. Indeed it is! Every clan in XG is required to have a clan meeting once a week to discuss community news, promotions within your respected clan, clan news, Game nights ect.. This is nothing new. Clan meetings being held is a General's responsibility and it's non-negotiable!

[/B]Upcoming New Games:

With up coming release of the new games in the next couple of months, there will be opportunities for clan growth. However to be ready to seize those opportunities, you must be preparing now and over the next six weeks.

First of all you should be finding out what games your clan members are looking to purchase. Once you determine what most of the clan will be playing, there be members that may want to grow different game or transfer to another clan that is playing that game. Make sure no member is left behind.

Also don't forget to do an Update Clan Request to get the website up dated for your new games.

You should be making sure that you have leadership in place that are prepared to grown the clan by helping welcome and train the new members. They should know the importance of holding game nights and meetings.

Also, as new members are concerned, you should make sure that your members know how to recruit, who to recruit, and what to do with them once they are recruited. It is hard to recruit if you are gaming with the same 5-6 members in a private party. Utilize the game chats to meet potential members. Everyone should be recruiting now and pick up the pace when the new games drop.

There will be an abundance of opportunities for clan growth and new members, will you take the time now to prepare to take advantage of those opportunities; if not, be assured that someone else will.

Behavior While Streaming:

When streaming it is important to remember that you are on broadcasting to many people, thus you should definitely be setting the correct example for the people watching. Bashing and insulting other members or clans within the community during streaming, be it over the mic or in the chat, is not something that will be overlooked. If anybody witnesses this kind of behaviour it should be reported to the appropriate leadership.

Captain's Usergroup Requests:

Leadership Accountability:


If you have promoted a captain and for whatever reason they are not meeting the requirements of the position, you as the leader of the clan must take action. First of all you have to make sure when promoting the Captian that they understand the responsibilities of the rank and when they fall short on those responsibilities, you have to hold them accountable. Meet with them let them know that it is unacceptable and that you expect that they will do what is required. If they are unable to hold up their end of the deal, then you have to be willing to make a change in leadership. Ineffective leadership is the quickest way to doom a clan.

Modding:
Everybody accepts the Honor Code when they decide to become a part of the community. It is very clearly stated there that modding is not allowed. There are no exceptions to this rule. XG does not participate in this type of play, it does not matter what game you are playing or whether it is a custom game or a public one. If you are modding or participating in modded lobbies then you are breaking the rules and you will face the consequences to your actions.

Captain's Usergroup Requests:
When a new member is promoted to a Captain, they will need to post a Usergroup Request to the SYN Captain's Usergroup. Before submitting a request, the member will need to have their OWN squad list posted on the forums (Not posting in a previous captain's already posted Squad List). They will also need to be listed as a Captain on the Clan List in order to be accepted.

Forums:
Generals and XS should regularly be going through and cleaning out their Forums. Making sure things are closed and un-stickied when they aren't needed, only sticky-ing things that are allowed, keeping the forums neat and easy to read. When you don't do these things, it makes it harder for others to know what's accurate, and what is not. Please go through at least once a month to ensure they stay clean. This will make it easier for leadership, and members, to easily find what they are looking for.

Clan Lists and Squad Lists:
Please ensure all members know that when they update their Clan/Squad list for promotions or recruits to the clan, they can hit the Edit button, make the changes, and then save. Some people are re-posting their lists every time a change is made. Re-posting should be for the 1st and 15th of the month. This makes extra work for the General, or the XS to keep deleting unneeded posts in the thread.

Preparing for a Clan Split:
When considering if a clan is ready for a clan split, the most important indicator to consider is the leadership of the clan. That means the quality of leaders and the quantity of leaders. To do a proposed split you need two full chains of command i.e. Two (2) generals, two (2) sets of Captains, and two (2) sets of Lieutenants. There should not be any questions about these members' dedication to the clan and that position. The training should be in place prior to the decision to split and each member should be well versed in the responsibilities of the rank that they will be assuming and have an understand of what they are committing to. There should also be some extra members in the wings ready to step up, just in case someone has to be replaced.

Rage Quitting and Leaving Fellow Gamers Behind:
While games do get frustrating to play, especially the different personalities of the gamers who play them, it is not fair to anyone if you leave during the middle of the game due to being frustrated. It is not professional, sportsmanlike, and not how we should be representing the game community. People leave either by straight up leaving the lobby and leaving the party, shutting off their xbox just to turn it on later or they go offline and continue gaming. Out of respect for fellow gamers, please make sure everyone understands this and waits til the end of the game to leave. This will allow the rest of that lobby to pick up another member to play a ranked game on Siege, complete another raid on Destiny, or have a full 6 man team on WWII. Everyone should want to represent our gaming community in a professional way and should respect the honor code.

Communication and Professionalism:
The communication has been great over the past week dealing with current issue of malcontents. There have been several helpful conversations and it has been good to see the pride that everyone takes in our great community. We certainly hope that the communication continues throughout the chain of command, all the time. We must communicate to make sure that everyone has been provided the necessary information and to continue to grow in a positive manner.

Speaking of positive manners, please continue to conduct yourself in professional manner, even when dealing with someone who does not share the same values of the honor, courage, and commitment of XG that we do. XG takes pride in our reputation as the mature gaming community, and stooping down to someone that is twisting the truth to fit their agenda is beneath anyone in our community.

Decision of Promotion:
The decision of who is going to be your Captain is one of the most important decisions that a General makes and has a direct influence of how successful the clan will be. The person that is selected should be someone that has been showing the leadership qualities and doing the responsibilities of their rank without any issues. They should understand and accept the responsibilities of the Captains position. When considering a member for this position, you should be thinking about the long term plans and success of the clan. Meaning is the member someone that would be a good general at some point? If not, then the Captains position may not be a good place for them.

Finally, they must have a replacement for the Lt position trained up and ready to be promoted. As with any rank, no one gets promoted unless the replacement is ready.

Promotion Requirements:
As per the new 2018 Promotion Requirements (posted here), if a Captain is wanting to proceed and move to the rank of General, they are required to take the Captain's Class. Scheduled Captain's Classes can be found here.

Clan Activities:
With the current and ongoing issue of poaching happening within the community, it is important that you are having clan activities with your members to ensure they stay interested and apt to stick around. These activities can be anything from Clan Meetings, Game Nights, Practices, Clan Matches, Forum Parties and just about anything that promotes teamwork and keeps the members active and playing together.
