As a Council member, what advise would you provide to a recently promoted Captain that would help him fulfill his requirement to the community?

Really the best advice I can give is to read the rank requirements of your rank and the rank that you want to achieve. I'm not saying this as the easy answer, but for the fact that we have put a lot of time and effort into creating the rank structure (among all of the other written tools that are available). Once you are established in your current position, start talking to your leaders to see if you can help them with their duties (without crossing any lines). There are many people in XG, and generally speaking we want to promote people once they become a leader amongst their peers. Once all of the other Captains (or whatever rank you are) are coming to you for advice, then you are most likely on the right path to promotion.
