Call of Duty 4 Multiplayer Maps Deploying This Spring

Most gamers likely assumed that downloadable maps were incoming for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, considering the content released for both Call of Duty 2 and Call of Duty 3, but today, Activision made it official.

While exact details are scarce, the publisher confirmed that maps are being prepared for a spring release on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. No word yet on pricing, or on availability for PC players, but Activision promises the maps will "thrust gamers into a hot zone of added combat across a variety of intense multiplayer locales."

If youre one of the few that has yet to check out Infinity Wards modern extension of its once-historial shooter franchise, be sure to scope out our Call of Duty 4 review.

As much as I’d love to see it, I highly doubt we’ll see new guns in the near future.  There’s way too much stuff that the weaponry in the game is linked to, I doubt it’ll be that easy to integrate them in with the rest of the game.  Maps are a different story, they’re pretty much plug and play...

I would rather them fix the sniping and the knee cap kills before they do anything else.

Hopefully it’ll have destructable environments... like Battlefield. Should make gameplay a whole lot more interesting.
