Blizzard Entertainment’s Wrath of the Lich King is the second expansion for the most popular MMO-RPG to date, World of Warcraft.

Northrend, a harsh iced over continent with a mass of new enemies and quests that will assist the leveling of characters from 70-80. One of Northrend’s starting points, The Howling Fjord will be accessible by zeppelin from the undercity for horde and by boat for the alliance. The starting zones will aid the characters in leveling up to 72, from there multiple possibilities open up to give the user a personalized sense of leveling the way they want to. Flying mounts will not be available until level 77 while in Northrend to give the user the chance to fully take in everything the continent has to offer. Dungeons will be done slightly different than in previous versions, there will be 5-man dungeons for characters levels 68 to 80, with 10-man raids for level 80 specifically. New to this expansion will be the option of taking on the heroic version of the 10 man raiding dungeon for a chance at some very impressive loot.

With the addition of 10 more levels for your character come new talents. The talent trees for each class have been completely redone to accommodate the PvP and PvE side of the game. Users will now be able to have 2 sets of talents, fixing the issue of certain user having to respec every time they wanted to play a different game style. Along with the new talent trees comes WoW’s first hero class added to the game, The Death Knight. Players that have a character of at least level 70 will be able to create a death knight. They start at level 55 on a quest series designed to teach the user how the class fully works.

The regular edition retails at $39.99 while the collector’s edition retails at $69.82. The collector’s edition comes with a 208 page book of artwork never before seen from the game, an exclusive in-game pet frosty, a DVD containing developer interviews, the official soundtrack CD, and a mouse pad.
